I love Penguin Classics!!!!!

The reason I'm camwhoring with a book (that is 1500 pages thick by the way)?

Because it's only RM8.50. I LOVE YOU PENGUIN CLASSICS MUAH MUAH MUAH MUAH MUAH MUAH!

All their books are only RM8.50, regardless of the number of pages and whatnot. I was so happy to find Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace! I love Russian history and this book has been quoted so many time in my textbook I just had to have it.

Three links!

1. FUCKING FUNNY LETTER Confirm you laugh until die. It's similar to this

2. Ringo is selling her dresses! Actually I don't know why I'm posting this also because I really want some of her dresses there and if you guys bid too high I'm gonna parsimoniously back off! Shit should I take off the link it's not too late ...

(You know you want to buy this and this and this for me. Thanks la.)

3. To encourage me to read more, I've set a target for myself and made it a 69 Books Project thing! Basically I'm going to read 69 books in one year and everytime I finish one I will write a short review of it in that blog. If you've read the books I've read before please comment! Or suggest some books to me! I feel very lonely without comments on that blog.

Okay that's all for today I'm updating tomorrow with photos!

PS - Hahahah funny convo between me and Ringo

Her: So are you doing the article too?
Me: No! They are only looking for Malaysian women above 21 and I am obviously Sri Lankan...
Her: Oh really I always thought you acted quite Malaysian.

HAHAHAHA. Laugh la.

Wanna be published?

A while ago I've been toying with this idea in my head, and I'm finally making it official! I've set up a small publishing business, Peer Publishing, aimed at helping teens become published writers.

For my first project I am looking for a couple of young writers and if you're interested, just do the following:

1. If I gave you the title, "The Unfortunate Life of Penny" how would your story for me be? Give me a description of how you'll write a story with that title.
2. Attach writing samples if you have some.
3. E-mail them to lim@mayzhee.com/mayzhee@gmail.com with the subject "Penny sucks" (hey it's all part of the title don't think too much! :D)

I've gotten in touch with some of the teens who've written to me in the past for help but it's been so long ago that I'm worried I might not be able to contact all of them again. So if you are one of those I've e-mailed, do not hesitate to e-mail me again!

Do write in to me if you think you have the potential to! Closing date for this is tentatively mid-August.

Bah. A tough question often interposed to me is one that goes like this, "Where do you find your inspiration?" And there's only so many times I can use the joke that inspiration comes to me everywhere so when standing in line at McDonald's others may be thinking of a burger I am thinking of my next book ... -_- I mean come on right. I also stopped eating McDonald's already (lie).

Good movies, books and songs do impinge creatively on me as a McDonald's menu can, and it was over the summer that I found inspiration in the most unexpected place.

In a Miley Cyrus song.

That's right. Her.

I was on holiday in Australia, sitting at the back of the car when that song came on. It was the first time I heard the lyrics so clearly and immediately I felt a connection with that song.

There's always gonna be another mountain,
I'm always gonna wanna make it move,

Always gonna be an uphill battle,

Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

No song - and of all it had to be a Disney one- has ever hit me this close to heart.

Feasibly it was because I was feeling quite saddled this summer holiday, for reasons both academic and not. So as I sat in the back of that car, with all that trepidation locked up at the back of my mind, Miley's The Climb just happened to be the right key.

One thing you probably didn't know about me is, I set goals for myself in terms of time spans. By 15, I must achieve this. By 2008, I must do this. And so on. The implication is that, I started to live a very rushed life. I wince every time a day passes, I haste to get things done, I give myself deadlines, in the very literal sense of the word, and very little breaks in between.

So over the summer naturally I became obsessed with the amount of time I had free on my hand, like an alcoholic given an Ikea truck of beer. Honest to God my idea of a perfect summer was of me toiling away to achieve another one of my goals. While I was elated at the prospect of summer, I was also stressed out every single day. Kuan Yu had to bear listening to me report to her daily about my mounting pressure, and I think she was about to severe all relations with me forever.

When I heard the song, the first thing I thought was,

"Hey, that made sense."

Nothing more. I mean, it is true that there will always be another mountain. It is true I'm always going to want to make it move. There will always be something else that I'm going to want to achieve. And sadly, it is also true that I'm going to have to lose sometimes. I have fallen so many times in the past, but what I don't realize is that things like that happen. To everyone. The lyrics were so simple, yet it made perfect sense to me.

Maybe it is time - not to slow down per se, but to at least consider the option of slowing down. To know that the option is at least there. Because sometimes it's really not about what you achieve, or how fast you achieve it, but HOW you achieve it. And it took me a Miley Cyrus song to realize that.

My publishing business ... that's my other mountain.

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side

It's the climb

I went to TWO Manchester United games in ONE country: mine!

I've devised a new way of taking photos.

See! Smart right! Can include three people at once, including driver! Especially when Chuan Huat has a special type of elongated rearview mirror! When I told him the mirror's good for him to see the pretty girls sittin at the back of his car, he promptly took it off. >:(

MY CHUAN HUAT WHAT A BIG HEAD YOU HAVE.

With U Zhing! My pretty girl statement not true meh! Don't doubt its veracity!

That night we went for karaoke as well ...

... and this is my attempt to kiss Jay.

In a Man Utd jersey too hahaha! Jay will forever be my first love!

Home! Posting this photo to show that I GOT BOOBS OK.

And now, presenting:

MANCHESTER UNITED VERSUS MALAYSIA FIRST MATCH FROM RM58 SEATS

How the field looked.

Straight ahead!

And the game starts!

Owen on big screen! *KISSES*

Nike aren't you proud!

MANCHESTER UNITED VERSUS MALAYSIA SECOND MATCH FROM RM308 SEATS!

Okay I was still using a lousy normal camera so didn't change much.

The players! I put hearts on those that I like, and a specially big one for Macheda.

Okay the hearts will stop now.

Desisted from hanging a heart over his head.

So nice we watched it twice.

And guess who else we saw there ... ! He took part in a very fervent Mexican wave.

Obviously all my photos focus on one person.

A kind person on Twitter going by the name Cheem agreed to lend me some of his photos, which were very good ones indeed! :) THANKS CHEEM!

You mean I have to pick ONE?

Malaysian player in number 7 jersey ... you are lucky for a very different reason in my eyes. Grr.

Gods warming up.

>
Everyone loves Rooney!

SEXY MACHEDA and I believe that's Owen in front! Just as sexy woots! I wish they would make out already no I did not just say that

Ben Foster, goalie. He is also on my list. :D

See the number 14 guy? Tosic? Oh yeah on my list too. *nods*

My two favorite strikers ahhh...

Watch this sequence.

Macheda plays.

Macheda doing, um, that.

AND MACHEDA SCORES!!!!!!!

Players watch.

Finishing this off with my favorite picture:

Hahah thanks Cheem! :D

Dear Football Gods (attn: Sub-department of Crazed Female Fans),

If you watched the FC Seoul game few hours earlier, you would have seen that Macheda scored again for MU and then he did this hand gesture thing cupping his ears like he was asking for applause from the audience. People try to convince me that it is just a goal celebration, that he is still humble and not arrogant ala Ronaldo yet (my once love).

But what I see, from his actions and comportment in Malaysia (winking at the audience, walking over half-naked and throwing his jersey, purportedly bringing a girl up to his hotel room) and from that goal celebration in Korea, is a player in the making.

I know, and I can sense, that Macheda is slowly becoming the next Ronaldo, in terms of augmenting goal figures and slipping humility. He is becoming arrogant, and better in football. This will undoubtedly make him very famous and worshipped by chicks some day.

All I ask from you, Evan (is your name Evan can I call you Evan?), is that you delay Macheda's fame for a while, maybe a year, until he comes back to Malaysia again or I go over to see him, and after he deigns to sleep with me because he is still not that famous yet and cannot afford to be picky ... then you pump him up and make him super famous.

Right now he's probably not the most fastidious footballer around, but if he rises to Ronaldo's level of fame he just might. So please, let me at least stand a chance of shagging him first.

So put a hold on the goals and appearances and - what the heck am I saying?! Bring in more goals from Macheda for the next season please! Manchester United shall dominate AGAIN! Hell yeah we'll win the EPL IN YOUR DREAMS TORRES!!

And who am I kidding. Macheda's gonna score more goals, papers make him a hero, chicks are gonna love him more, then he's gonna score more vital goals, chicks are gonna throw their boobs at him, he gets more choices (bigger boobs too), and my already-puny chance becomes microscopic.

FINE.

Regards,
May Zhee

Summer with friends + my favorite scene in Transformers 2

I got bored so I decided to upload all my summer in Malaysia photos!

This is one from a long time ago, evident from my hair.

No idea why glasses magically appeared and blocked our faces.

Also went to watch Transformers 2 in KLCC with friends some friends!

My favorite part was when Megan Fox caught the robot bitch kissing Shia Le Beouf (dude I can't remember the names of the characters) and then during the car chase SLAMMED that sorry bitch's ass into the lamp post. It was such a vicarious thrill. Totally wish I can do that to Peg Ni and not go to jail.

Wan Juin driving us to KLCC ahhh our savior.

Our savior who got pretty angry when she got lost.

Then we had lunch at Nippon Tei.

And a few weeks later, dinner at the Carat Club with some people from Melbourne U!

Why is my head always blocked by glasses/head in photos.

Group photo!

This was before I went crazy at the astronaut.

Ruwan the PLAYER calculating our dinner bill.

Sorry I just had to shove that koala in there. Too much Australianess in the above photos.

A few weeks back too, us at Maison! More Australianess!

Whoa I look damn nice here right! :D

With the Quek sisters! Oh and you too Colin!

All of us!

iPhone photos are so deceiving! It was 3am, I was back from a late night out and I was knackered but the photo turned out decent!

Me in my home clothes in Botanic Resort Club...

U Zhing after her swim in the pool.

Wtf don't know what I'm doing also.

Okay I realize I forgot to end the post nicely.

I also realize there is no way to end this post nicely.

Okay that's all this post is ending.

MACHEDA IS LOVE! Bye!
